How to Find the Best Exchange Rate for International Transfers
When sending money internationally, the exchange rate you receive is just as important as the transfer fee. A provider advertising "zero fees" may still be making money by offering an exchange rate 2–4% worse than the mid-market rate.
The mid-market rate (also called the interbank rate) is the fairest benchmark — it's the midpoint between buy and sell prices in the global forex market. Services like Wise are known for offering rates very close to mid-market, while traditional banks often add a 3–5% markup.
For the USD to MXN corridor, USD to INR corridor, and USD to PHP corridor, digital-first services consistently outperform traditional banks and wire transfers. Always use our live converter to check the current mid-market rate before initiating any transfer.
